I WANT! Entry 1

There are many things that I want and wanted to do.
  1. I want to watch movies! (I've missed doing that-it's been months)
  2. I want to sleep! (still sleepy-It's early in the morning ;p)
  3. I want to watch online drama! (It sucks when you get criticised for it)
  4. I want to sing (one of my silly dreams' to be a singer, haha, wondered what's it like)
  5. I want to read manga
  6. I want...Argh! This sucks...I've thought of many things I wanted but I forgot what!

Haha, Just another stupid entry I just thought of, but I want, I want!

Comprehension

Lately,
I've been happy,
I've been sad,
I've been disappointed.

But today thinking back the past weeks,
I wondered why,
I've asked 'how come?',
I've said 'What a joke!'

Life's like this.
One moment you are fine,
The next you are grumpy.
At first you are happy,
And then you are angry.

It's amazing how God made us,
The same yet different,
One with the creation,
But set apart from them.

Today,
I've once again comprehend
What I've always known
It is wonderful how God speaks to us

I've Moved! My First 2 days in Selayang

Date: 2/10/09, Friday.

Today I’ve shifted to Selayang and officially a 'Kepong geng'. Haha… It was a tiring day and I’m absolutely grateful that Jen Ruw, Wen Cheong, and Jim were able to help out. Thanks to their help, we have managed the biggest pain of the moving process – the furniture, over and gonna shift slowly the small baggage from tomorrow onwards. We have a thank you dinner at Suzi’s Corner at the end of the day. What a great day!

Date: 3/10/09, Saturday

Good Morning, Sunshine! ...or maybe raindrops. The first morning that greeted me was a rainy morning. But the damp weather feels perfectly refreshing to me. Mylo was still a little jittering but I suppose us being here helps to calm him down. Well moments later, Sam and I are going down to load things from Cheras up before youth meeting. It’s Floorball today!

Tonight’s highlight would be Potluck with the family at our new place. As of now our house is still not complete, many things the contractor couldn’t install without us shifting in. No matter, it is a great start off!

The Dating Poll, Dating 101: Guys Who Don't Get the 2nd Date

I came across an article today that intrigued me. Personally, I have an experience myself (I'm not trying to brag at all). It made me laugh a little but I pity those guys too. So here it is.

"It's a cat and mouse game; puppy dogs don't win." Let me explain.

As a dating coach and matchmaker, I've spent the past 10 years conducting some unconventional dating research using a business concept called "Exit Interviews." While earning my MBA degree at Harvard Business School, I learned how candid exit interviews from an employee leaving his company can reveal crucial feedback, empowering managers to get something right next time with future clients and employees. So I thought: why not try this tactic in the dating world?

The Dating Poll

In one poll, I asked over 100 single women to confess the real reasons they didn't accept a second date with a man. My goal was to help men discover simple mistakes or misperceptions which they could adjust next time with someone new. The women I interviewed came from 23 states and 6 countries, with ages ranging from 21 to 68. Five top reasons emerged strong and consistent, but what was the number-one turnoff? Did it have something to do with the shortcomings of the bad boys, men afraid of commitment, or guys who were too short, bald, potbellied, or unemployed? Not at all. Here, single women define the men they dated who don't make it for a second round of courtship.

The Puppy Dog
Betsy, a 50-year-old lawyer in Seattle, mused about a guy she dated who reminded her of that "Sex and the City" episode when Carrie was dating Aidan and complained about how he was too available: He didn't do the ever-seductive withholding dance or make her stomach flip. Betsy admitted, "The early stage of dating is just one big game, whether we like it or not. It's a cat and mouse game; puppy dogs don't win."

The Incessant Flatterer
Emily, a 39-year-old writer from Boston, said about one man, "Eagerness can be flattering, but this felt a little desperate... it became annoying. Also, because it was a first date, [I think] it had more to do with a fantasy about me, than me." Hillary, a 35-year-old magazine editor from New York, NY, remarked, "I went out with him in the first place because he was so complimentary to me. I thought I should give him a chance. Normally I like a man who doesn't play games, but the flattery really became overkill." Karen, a 28-year-old health care consultant in Madison, WI, sighed, "He looked like a sad puppy when I said goodnight."

The Edgeless Man
Women complained in droves about single men who reminded them of puppies. These guys followed them around and were too eager to please. Men who were "too nice" often appeared desperate or weak. They didn't have an "edge." And their "gushing" early emails with excessive flattery were a turnoff.

The Over-Gusher
Liz, a 41-year-old language translator from Sherman Oaks, CA, told me about the guy who sent such effusive emails after they met that she "was disappointed to receive them." She said, "I wanted the polite, even enthusiastic thank-you along with a compliment or two, but not the over-gush. I guess I wanted him to maintain a little mystery." Jenna, a 33-year-old graphic designer in Miami, FL, commented: "He was too nice, too transparent... he didn't intrigue me."

The Sweetie
Emma, a 25-year-old advertising associate in London, described a guy she could have "walked all over." And Shannon, a 38-year-old accountant from Cincinnati, remembered declining a third date with a too-nice guy who came to her office after she got promoted. He spent hours organizing her files and brought her an expensive "congratulations" plant. She said, "He was so good on paper, and I guess I'd call him 'sweet,' but he didn't have an edge."

Do Nice Guys Finish Last?
As these confessions poured in, I worried whether the old adage "Nice guys finish last" could actually be true. I hoped not, because I personally love "nice guys" (I even married one! And after 16 happy years, let me offer this endorsement: nice guys are the only ones who stand the test of time). But as I spoke to women in more detail, they clarified what they really meant, and I felt reassured. It's not that women don't want a "nice guy" (they absolutely do when they are in a marriage-minded mode!), but rather guys should simply monitor the quantity of their effusive compliments and sweet gestures. Like most things in life, a little bit of a good thing goes a long way, but too much is overwhelming and usually a turnoff.

I'M BACK!!!

Boo...hoo! Haven't got the chance to update for 5/6 weeks, but now I'm back! For now...haha...

Let's see...where to start...

Ah! Early March I've got a new job! Yay! But it...an accounting job (sob). Well, not the whole set, only the book-keeping part. Then, a number of you in church would have already known this. I get to go to Singapore! My first "business trip"! However, this is also the first time I've been away from home practically alone.

Today, I've got half a burden gone! It's mid term assessment again. I've finished the presentation part but not the report! Argk! Time to brood myself over lengthy journals and thick dictionary. And I can't exactly turn to anyone cause I totally don't have the luxury to do so.

And I want to watch 'The Race to the Witch Mountain'....!!!!!!!!! *WAILLL.......!!!!!!!!!!*

Just Today...

Semester has started again, today is the first day and I've got muscleache from the Olympics last Sat. It was a great day, but the weather was so....hot! I wasn't feeling that well on that day, so I started feeling nausea after a short while under the sun. My group didn't win, but it was great fun to have so many new friends to join us. I'm glad that they find the games enjoyable.

When I was coming back from college today, I stopped by at Ampang Point & had 1901 Texas Ted Hot Dog for lunch. It's so good! But don't take me word for it since I have a weird taste some times. Aww...man, I'm hungry again.

Iljimae!!!!

I've just finished the kdrama last week! Aaaa...I've fallen in love with Lee Junki all over again! For those who don't know who he is, he's acted in a kdrama titled 'My Girl' and a movie titled 'The King and the Clown'.

In this drama, he acted as a son of a noble family, to be more exact the nephew of the king in Chosun era -Lee Geom. His father, Lee Wonho, was accused of treason and was killed one night with him being the only witness since he was hidden by his father in a wardrobe.

In that one fateful night, his family was scattered. He himself was 'stolen' by a thief who broken into his house after his father was killed. He was raised by the thief and his wife. But after suffering from the trauma, he lost his memories after a high fever. He grew to be a young man with a good heart, but acted like a scoundrel. Always being bullied by classmates who were born into noble families, he began to regain his memories.

He then began to search for his birth sister and mother with the help of a gangster. But being a son of a traitor, wrongly accused or not, his searching had to be done in secret. Unfortunately, when he has found his sister, she was caught and was charged as a wanted criminal for being a runaway slave girl and for injuring a guard. Having learned that she was a traitor's daughter, and her brother, Lee Geom, had been in contact her, the authorities set up a gallows to lure him out. However, in his failure to rescue his sister, he watched her being hanged to death. He abandoned the thought of finding his mother, afraid for endangering her life, hoping that she is well and alive somewhere.

He shifted his focus to avenge his father's death by looking for the owner of a sword which had a symbol carved into the blade as a clue. It led him to his father's comrades who are all the king's loyal ministers. He tricked his adopted father to teach and train him the skill of a thief, and train martial arts from a con man. In his searching, he steals from rich foolish nobles who extorted their wealth from the poor and commoners, and he returned what he had stolen to the poor.

Sounds familiar? Of course, he is 'Robin Hood' to the people. The rich feared him for their wealth, the soldier hated him for various reasons, the people loved him and gave him a name, Iljimae, which mean a branch of plum/titis flower (mei hua). For every time he steals, he leaves behind a drawing of a branch of plum flowers. The townspeople began to declared him as King as after an incident and the people began to lose faith in the king.

As the story climaxed, the truth of his father's death led him to the Palace. He began to planned to burglarise the Palace. That one night, he found out about everything and after threatening the king, he disappeared. Rumors of him being dead was spread all over country. However, after 4 years, someone else burglarised into the Palace the same way.

All in all it was a good drama, I cried so bad in the tragic moments. For those who will be watching it, enjoy! It is really a treat to all Lee Junki's fan and kdrama's fan.
